Alan down in Florida

Instead of dressing up in Halloween costumes and marching down main street, these people need to be dressing in ordinary everyday attire and marching on state capitols and legislatures and demanding their equal rights instead of seemingly still following the Beastie Boys ancient advice about fighting for their right to party.

Richard is as ever poignant in his observation re Pride. I have no issue as such with the celebratory aspect, but too often it tries to paint itself as something more relevant; the fact that most participants don't lobby, attend activist meetings, sign petitions etc indicates otherwise ofcourse.

There is much here in the UK to celebrate....but also much to do, as well as support others around the world who have yet to be afforded some of the most basic and fundamental civil rights as members of the Lgb community in a st8 world.
